CELEBRATION OF DONALD’S LIFE SERVICE: 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, IL with Bro. Phil Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, IL near Oblong, IL.

Donald G. Newbold, 83, Oblong, IL passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL.
Donald was born on October 9, 1932 in Crawford County, IL near Hardinville and was the son of Daniel Franklin Newbold and Lana (Musgrave) Newbold. On January 22, 1956 he married Donna Brown.
Donald had worked at Mont Eagle Mills, Inc. and Yale Farm Equipment, but he was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1950; 55 year plus member of the Oblong Masonic Lodge #644 AF & AM and a member of the Crawford County Farm Bureau. Donald enjoyed tractor pulling and did pulling for many years.
Donald is survived by his wife Donna Newbold, Oblong, IL; a son and daughter-in-law Mark and Judy Newbold, Oblong, IL; a daughter and son-in-law Jeannea and Marion Shier, Chenoa, IL; three grandchildren David Shier of Taylorville, IL, Megan and Mitchell Faulkner, Casey, IL and Beth Fiscus, Oblong, IL; two great-grandchildren Sophia Faulkner, Casey, IL and Jacob Fiscus, Oblong, IL; two brothers Jesse Newbold, Robinson, IL and H. W. “Butch” Newbold of Oblong, IL; two sisters Doris Smith, Anderson, IN and Norma Diel, Brazil, IN; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jane and Harold Sholders, Willow Hill, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Donald in death were his parents; a sister Mary Crapo; five brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law.
